Note that I basically got it to work in virtualbox with opensuse's version of their cpio archive....as a tribute to the fact that Suse or Opensuse seem to have developed it.
Mdv have a gfxmenu....but its based on Suse.
My test on my host was a fail....at this stage...but I got a snapshot from vbox so that will do for the moment. I suspect lack of documentation on what to run in the convert command and whether or not 50 kB is the max size of back.jpg to be the issues I may get around to test. Sorry if this appears to be a blog.
