please help !!!
 

i have configured my redhat box to start Xserver automatically , but when i tryed to configure the resolution of my screen, it becames all black ,since i can't control any thing in my pc, i can't also change the screen configuration because Xserver start automatically.
please help , and thanks in advance .

u can use Xconfigurator for your redhat box to adjust your resolution. You don't want the GUI login by default? then check your /etc/inittab and set the default number to 3.

you can also hit esc at boot time when lilo fires up
enter: linux runlevel 3 ,to go directly to a console
or try while your machine works in total darkness
ctrl+alt+F2 to get a console
ctrtl+alt+backspace should kill your X server
