i am trying to install icecast.

I am having a hard time i don't know what i am doing.

I installed it from a slackware package

My disto is slackware 9.0

icecast requires libogg, libvorbis, libshou, libxml2 how do i know if i need them or if i alredy have them.

I installed the icecast with pkgtool than tried to run it

this is the message that i got

Usage:
icecast -c <file> Specify configuration file

is this becasue i did not install those other packages

icecast seems to be the best program for streaming mp3's

is their another program that i could use

To check if the lib that you want is installed, you can use the comand:

# ldconfig -p | grep _lib_name_

To run icecast you must have a configuration file for it. For examples of configuration files take a look at this thread:
