My friend accidentally deleted this file libc-2.3.5.so,now her system is duped..what can be done to solve her problems? She can no longer run basic commands, and can only access the server thru remote terminal. Thanks in advanced.
She could try reinstalling the package that provides that file (usually glibc). If that doesn't work, then she will need to get the binary for that package, extract it using something like ark or file-roller (or the cli as well) and then copy libc-2.3.5.so to the directory that she deleted it from.
You could use a livecd to access the hosed installation and copy the file to the right place. If this doesn't work, they reinstallation maybe necessary because glibc is an important system package and deleting any of its files is looking for trouble.
