php porblem

there is problem with php. it just won't return anything. not even a script. all i get is blank page. though html works fine. when i restart httpd i get following:
Starting httpd: [Fri Aug 16 16:15:53 2002] [warn] module php4_module is already loaded, skipping
there must be config problem, cause otherwise i would just get the source of php.

did u make a new installation of php or apache? how did u run into this difficulty? is there 1 apache installed or several versions? did u try to shut apache completely down then start new? does the error message say sth about an existing process? if so u have to rm the process pid file.
sorry, i'm asking too many questions
