photo to KDE background can some one tell me how to

I have some photos 1024x768 jpeg format
the first thing I need to do is scale them up to 1280x800
now what format do I export them to ?
where do I put it so KDE can find it ?
what configuration file do I edit to to tell KDE to use it and on what desk top to put it on ?

this is how it works isn't it ?

Put the images in /usr/share/wallpapers
jpg format is fine.
No need to rescale them (they'll be stretched to fit your desktop)
R-Click the desktop, Configure desktop - Background.
Choose Picture.

I have been running slack for way too long !!?!!
I totally forgot there was a graphic tool to configure it instead of editing a file .
