PGX64 Display Problems

Hi, All

I'm having probs with the getting my PGX64 to work properly on my Sun E450 with gentoo 2.6 kernel,
when it boots and loads the graphics driver, there are characters missing from words
at the login prompt where it says This is <hostname>.<domainname> the T is missing from this and all the first letters are missing?

has anyone been able to find a working solution?

Thanks in advance
