Permission denied

I cannot install any software (rpm, tar, gaz). While try to install then a message appears "permission denied you cannot extract files here try another directory" but I cannot install to another directory. In all the directory the same message appears. The files that are downloaded from the internet cannot copy or save to anywhere. How can i solve these problem?

First up, this might have been better under the Linux General forums rather than Member Intro's, but welcome to LQ!

Onto your problem, if you try extracting files within /home/yourusername you shouldn't have any problems, other places might stop you depending on the user being logged in. As for installing new software RPM, again, if logged in just as your normal user it would prevent it - you'd need to be the root user for that.
