performance difference between nv & nvdivia driver?


hi,

is there noticable performance difference between
nv (which is from X) and nvidia (from nvidia corp) drivers?

Yes, there is a huge performance difference, and a very possitive one. It is especially important if you plan on doing any 3d gaming.

Well, i think that if you use nv, You will not get 3D layer working...
Try to read README provided with nvidia drivers...

yeah the nv drivers are generic and just barly give you a X seassion.

the nvidia drivers are from nvidia it self, they will give you full access to all of the power of your vid card to include, but not limited to 3d, s-vid, vid capture, etc...

whilst nv are better than vesa, they are still crap.

Also, with nvidia drivers you get glx module.
