Penguin logo in the top-left, how??

I run slackware, knoppix, etc. And there is a little penguin in the top left.. I like the penguin, however I would like to change it to something I like..

How is that working? How can I put my own images in the cmd line?

Hi,

The penguin is displayed thanks to frame buffer and linux-logo.h file, so to change it you need to change linux-logo.h file... else you can have a look at this page for more precisions.

What you're referring to is the boot logo (not the boot splash, that is something different).

The ability to display the boot logo is a kernel option and the image is compiled into the kernel. It can be changed using the fblogo program, or by following the instructions at Kernel Framebuffer Logos - Troy's Linux Stuff.

A Google search for framebuffer logo linux or something similar may reveal more resources, but this should get you started. Good luck.
