And?

And Windows 7? Does the drive work there?

What happens when you go directly to the mount point with the CLUI?

Unhappy Messenger...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think your pen drive is toast. If it fails both in Windows and in Linux, and you've tried multiple USB ports, the only other option is to try it on another computer. If it works there, then we might have some kind of hardware issue on your computer. As it stands, I'm thinking your Pen drive is taking a dirt nap. Sorry.

before throwing it in the trash, try formatting it.

i cant answer to each and every one but i made my pen-drive to work now.thanks to all people for your views.
following things i wud like to point out.
1>its not from e-bay..i had purchased it from mainmarket
2>its very old,approx 4 years.
3>it is working, thanks to transcend online recovery.here's the link
toolhttp://www.transcendusa.com/support/...ecoveryV15.zip
i guess it repaired my pendrive by flashing its bios.i think some virus might have deleted it's bios.

but there is still a problem.when i tried to format it,it says pendrive is write protected.

at last i fixed my pen drive completely n now there is no 'write peitected' error and it is waorking as it used to work.

the problem was with jet flash fixing tool.Previously i had used different version(not for my pendrive which is jf v30)so it installed some different driver on my pen drive after searching TRANSCEND's web page i got jf v30 fixing tool
and it loaded correct driver and pen drive is back to normal.

cheers.
