PCM level resets to 0 on boot
Whenever I start my system I have to open the mixer and turn the PCM back up. All of the other volume settings stick. What can I change?

Try running alsamixer in the CLI, set the volume to the desired level, switch to root and then do "alsactl store".

My machine does not seem to know what alsamixer is. I've used aumixer (I think that's the name) but I've seen that on boot aumixer says "I see alsa settings so I won't touch them."

I know they are not the same, I just thought that since the one saw the settings for the other, it was installed properly. Anyway, I guess I didn't have the utility installed after all. Now it is and everything works great!
Thanks for your help, Jim |
