Hi,
Initially I had windows on my PC. I'm using the sound onboard my intel
motherboard. That time my sound system was working very well. I formatted
my disk and installed Red Hat Linux 9.0 (Shrike) on my PC. Now when I do
the sound card detection, it says that No Sound Card detected.

But when I go in to the setup>soundcard configuration, it says that

"A PCI sound card was found in your system. The details are:

Model: Intel Corp.|82801EB AC'97 Audio"

when I press OK, it says that

"Intel Corp.|82801EB AC'97 Audio not supported"

what should I do rectify this problem? How to configure the sound card
now? Any help would be great, thanks.

if red hat 9 comes with alsa then you can try running alsaconf (as root)...

if it doesn't come with alsa, i really recommend upgrading to a distro that comes with it...

red hat 9 isn't an officially supported distro anymore by the way...
