pass root password in cgi script file

I've got a couple of jobs that require root priveleges to execute. Would like to run them from a CGI file. How do you pass the root password in a cgi file when logged in as a user. Regards...Mike

This sounds dodgy to me but anyway.

See the owner of the cgi executable to root, and set the SUID bit on the file. When that files executed it will run with root provillages. ( but this is very, very security vunerable ).

Me i'd use rsh/ssh logins to access a remote machine. then execute a script. A cgi ( presumably through a web browser etc. ) is a lot easier to break into.
