partition probs and more

OK guys I'll try to give the run down of what happened. I am currently running win2kpro, I boot up my box. I run partition magic 8 and set up a 10gig partition for linux on my 120gig drive, I also created a swap partition for it as well. The machine restarts and win2kpro starts to load. A DOS lookign screen pops up and starts doing the partitioning, there was 6 steps it went through but I don't remember them The computer restarts after that and loads just past the BIOS where it gives the error message "Error loading operating system" So that was a lil irritating.

Now for the second problem. I burned the 3 ISO's (shrike) off of the red hat site (Red Hat 9) and I try to boot off the cd's and it won't do it. I go into my BIOS and set the cdrom as the primary boot device and it still won't boot. So I use a red hat 9 boot disk (I'm in a red hat 9 class at schoo, bout 2 weeks into it. So I try to boot off the floppy just to see what happens and see if maybe I can get to a point where maybe I''ll be able to boot off cd. Seems to be going fine then I get the error message of:

kernel panic: no init found.

and this is where I am stuck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think I may have figured out why my cd's aren't working properly. If I remember correctly I burned them as ISO's not image files.
