Smile Partition Help

Hi:
At this time I don't fully understand how to shrink a partition.

I found this thread that explains that unless I have Windows software to shrink my XP partition or have the live Cd for Ubuntu I won't be able to shrink that partition either.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1949263

Both of these are on a 500GB hard drive-
I have sda5 which is my Windows partition
sda6 which is my Ubuntu 10.04 partition

I want to install Fedora 16 so I can complete the exercises in Chapter 2 of the "Linux Certification" textbook.

I would delete the Windows partition but it is the only OS that recognizes my Kodak Esp7-

Is there a way to shrink/resize my Windows partition w/o the software mentioned above?

Thanks in advance

If you have xp then you have the software.
Right click "my computer" and select manage computer.
You can resize the partition from there.

Be aware that fedora needs quite a bit of space.

Btw, this is hardly a success story. Posting to the correct forum gets better results ;-)

As far as I know this only works in 7, not XP.

@Ztcoracat: The Fedora CD should come with all you need to accomplish that task.

By the way, since this is not a member success story I asked a moderator to move this thread to a more appropriate forum.
