Packard Bell, can't get into BIOS

I recently acquired a fairly ancient packard bell PC and set about formatting the drive and installing Ubuntu on it, which was succesful. I now can't get into GRUB however as when I load the computer up, I'm presented with options to continue with the POST or to go into a CMOS menu. After this, the computer tries to boot from a CD and won't go any further.

Obviously I'd usually go into the BIOS and change the boot sequence, but I can't see any way of doing so. Any suggestions?

The BIOS on a Packard Bell is generally accessed by pressin F1 or F2, have you tried continuing with the POST? also, has the computer ever booted properly?

Yeah, the computer did boot properly when it had XP on previously. I've tried F1 and F2 to no avail. I just get the CD error after the POST.

Do you have the MOBO details? If so Google on them and you should be able to find the manual, with this, you can find the CMOS reset switch, handy little things!
