Question package/program manager for x???

hi, does anyone know a program (best for x) which gives me info on packages and can install them? I don't like 'dselect'! It's not good to handle in my opinion!

dselect is evil

I prefer apt-cache and apt-get at the command line.

If you really want a GUI then try deity-gtk (apt-get install deity-gtk on sid).
