Other languages, keyboard etc.

I *have* read all the posts re language support I could find here, but still do not find an answer to the simple question how to have several languages at your disposal, switchable from the keyboard or from the screen? I do not want to change my primary language and I do not want to change my locale. I just want to write an occasional paragraph in Greek or in Russian. Under Windows, I choose additional languages under "language support" and then switch them as I need by pressing LEFT ALT Shift. I combed the Control Center (found nothing) and the Control Center (YaST) where I found and set "secondary languages" but not a clue how to use them.

I should stess that the display of foreign languages works excellent, the problem is only INPUT. Thanks, vladlx

You will probably get other responses how to do this in KDE or Gnome. I type the following in command line to switch to danish keyboard layout:

Code:
setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout dk -variant basic
