Opera Browser will not search with Google. Others fine.

I had a 'drive full' situation and after I fixed that by deleting cups errors ,Opera would not search with Google or Yahoo. If you put a address directly into it ,it works so I assume that it is a DNS issue. Bing and the others work fine when selected as the search engine.

Is there an option or arguement while starting Opera in the terminal to try to troubleshoot it?
Thanks in advance!

I don't get the question exactly. Do you mean you want to use a default search engine as google? Or are you saying that when you go to google and try to input some search it doesn't work?

It wouldn't be dns in any case that I know of. More likely some issue with ipv6 but we'd need to know full issue.

When I use opera, and Google or Yahoo are used to do a search ,I get an error of a bad address and I should contact the webmaster. If I go to the search box (not the address box) and chose bing to do the search, there is no problem. Most browsers that I'm aware of allow you to choose which search engine will do the search for you.

I think when my cups log error files filled up all of my disc space, the file manager corrupted opera's program files. I had 38Gs of cups errors because systemd was not set to have a limit with them.

Let's go with this assumption then. "corrupted opera's program files."

Remove Opera and re-install it.
