openSUSE won't boot after I resized its partition - grub2 related - Page 2

I booted with Super Grub Disk 0.9799 (legacy grub). I used these commands [note that partition numbering is 0 based, so this is the same as (hd0,9) I was using before]:

Code:

kernel (hd0,8)/vmlinuz
initrd (hd0,8)/initrd.img
boot

I get the same flashing screen as before, so booting with legacy grub gives same result as with grub2...

Maybe Mythbuntu won't boot from a logical partition???

The logical partition just before this one boots sidux and the one right after it boots openSUSE. All partitions were created at the same time with the same tool.

I am not familiar with ubuntu but if you have a Myth disc - Boot and see if it has an option to repair your boot record and make sure and setup /.

Using the old grub you should be able to chainload by using

grub>

rootnoverify (hd0,8)
chainloader +1

I never found a solution. I gave up on booting Mythbuntu for now.
