I downloaded and installed openoffice.org suit and when i try to open it, it comes up for a few seconds then crashes. The program ends printing to console "Logic error 2". I'm running slackware and built OO.org from source.

Slackware version? GCC version? Any configure issues? Any make errors? Tried to rebuild with debugging and get a backtrace?
Sorry to hear OOo failed after a compile. That's a long compile and it sucks when things don't work out right afterwards.
I'm using Slackware 12.1. I had no errors or any problems compiling it. After a few hours of frustration i removed all OOo2.4.1 that i had on my computer and tried an earlier version (2.3.1) and it worked, so at least i have a working office suit. Although the automatic update doesn't work...
I'll keep using the old one until the new realease in September. =)
If you're not too bothered about using the precompiled version, Robby Workman (rworkman on LQ.org) has a SlackBuild script on his site which repackages the OO.org binaries into a Slackware package which can be managed with pkgtools.
