Question OpenOffice.Org =IF(WEEKDAY(DATE($O$2;B$2;$A4)<6;"dailyx"))

I am trying to perform a rotating lookup, this is just way complicated (for me at least). Currently I have started with =IF(WEEKDAY(DATE($O$2;B$2;$A4)<6;"dailyx")). That is meant to output a value based on which day of the week it is. Now I wish to say to it if it's a weekend just blank the cell or preferably fill it with a colour. This is all for a backup schedule I have been trying to figure out for ages. For the weekdays I need to have a starting point so it knows where to continue from at the start of a year, so I enter Daily1 for example. The tapes have daily's, weekly's and monthly's and I'm a bit lost at the correct formula to use. In plain english I would expect I would need something long like 'if day = weekday not friday then choose Daily tape incremented from last daily. Else if friday use incremented weekly tape or if is last friday of the month then use monthly increment'. I keep getting myself confused!

Can anyone suggest a more accurate way of achieving at least part of what I am after?

Thanks!
