open a new window in a specific workspace????

I want know how i can open a particular window in a specific workspace in gnome.......When i click on a certain icon in gnome-panel to open a specific application ( say firefox) and now if i change my workspace then the new window appears in the current workspace instead of the workspace where the icon was clicked.....I want to open the window in the workspace where it was meant to be opened ( the workspace where the icon was clicked...).....
Is there any way to accomplish the above.....
Any ideas anyone...????

I don't think this is a feature available in gnome right now. This feature would be nice indeed. I miss it, too.

Why don't you make a wishlist bug against gnome and ask this feature?
