One thread I can't seem to find...

There was a thread here where somebody asked about a Linux distribution that would fit on a 1.44 MB floppy--Does anybody remember the name of the distro? Actually, a 5 or 10-floppy distro would work OK, too--One of my supervisors at work wants to try out Linux, but he wants to put it on his ancient laptop, which doesn't have a CD-ROM drive, and probably doesn't have bugger-all for a hard disk. He might be able to borrow an external CD-ROM for a day, so I could do a MINIMAL install of RedHat or Corel (I have Slack 7, but, as you may have seen in my other thread, I can't get it installed), but chances are, I'm going to be installing Linux from floppies, and I really don't want to have to be swapping disks for an hour

The only distro I've heard of that fits on a floppy is LOAF.
I only used it once-it doesn't have "X" or anything, but it's 1.4MB.

That should do! Thanks.

(I really hope Mikey gets that external CD-ROM, though--I could put RedHat on, then. A non-X distribution isn't going to impress a 'doze user much.

You might want to check out http://www.hardcorelinux.com/floppy-distros.htm This site lists several floppy distros.
