At the boot menu ( grub ) , arrow down to the Redhat menu item and
Type: e
Then arrow down to the line which has kernel information and
Type: e
Go to the end of that line and space over one space, then
Type:init 3 and press the enter key
Now type: b to boot up into the command line mode.

For Redhat, including FC1, you could reconfigure things by typing
redhat-config-xfree86

but with FC2, you can use the command: setup which will bring up a small GUI menu. The last item on the list is X configuration . That is what you could use.

When you are done, reboot or type: init 5 to boot up into GUI mode.

u could try checking in the bios to see if u can alter the settings there and then if u can get to boot up u can use startx to configure or check in the xorg.conf where the resolutions should be specified and hopefully u can change things there.
I am not sure if u have a boot up floppy made for fedora or if u even need one....but in rh9 it is possible to put in the floppy as though u wanted to add new packages from the cd and then it`s possible to alter hardware from that.
