Odd problem..minutes going by like seconds, everything too quick?

Okay, it seems like everything is in fast forward on my linux machine. First, let me start with the importants...I'm using the latest version of VMWare for my server...When I first started, there were no problems, or, every once in awhile, I would notice when i hit a letter, such as l, the letter would repeat like 8 times.

The minutes to by like seconds.....literally 1 mississippi 2 mississippi 3 mississippi and 3 minutes are by...

When I try to type like my password, pass1word, it ends up on the screen like pppppppppaaaaaaaaasssss111wwwwwwwwwwwoooooorrddddddddd...If I hit the key really really quick I might be able to make 1 letter come up. It isn't only for passwords just generally no matter where you type.

There is the little cursor that is like a circle when loading, like when you first startup linux, and normally it would light up in a ring and revolve around, maybe once every 2 seconds you'd see it do a complete revolution, now it does like 5 a second or so...

It seems like something's up, like the processor might be set wrong and it's doing everything in fast forward rather than real time?

I am using the latest version of Fedora, and at first this was all barely noticeable, only lately has it gotten real bad. I think it gets progressively worse as time passes...

Any ideas? might be kinda simple, like an internal clock may so that minutes are seconds or something, but I don't believe I've changed anything like that..

It could be the known issue with Linux 2.6 and clock drift with VMware, although the issue wasn't that bad for me. Google "Linux VMware clock" or similar for details.

i tried the suggestions for fast clock on 64 bit systems, didn't help..It seems to be the problem though..

The clock is progressively faster and faster...Now every 5 minutes is a second....i set the clock for today this morning, it's already 5 days ahead...I can't even log into the machine because I can't type the password, so I just deleted it.....
