ODD! Cygwin - cat tr outputs email message from ealier in the day?!?!?!?!
 

dude bros check this out... bear with me here as i explain this..

using a tip from one of this forums members tip to remove , excuse me ... squeeze sequential characters out of a big *.csv file I started to run it on the other problem files to complete my clean up... (nothing else was open except the cygwin deal)

upon issuing the :

cat 3of5.csv | tr -s "\""> fixed_3of5.csv

i hit enter and everything is norm it is at that


stage where its working on squeezing the 5,000,000 or so double quotes ""blah""

then say 3 or so minutes it starts displaying, character by character from left to right like when you read something an email I had read in preview pane in my outlook from hours earlier...
it went .................................... across the screen 3 or 4 lines worth then returned a "command not found"

it wouldn't stop so i killed it

i don't know maybe its meaningless to you but i found it extremely wierd to say the least, not to mention that that email had been only in the preview pane so not actually opened then subsequently deleted shortly thereafter. even more wierd was the fact that the email of course is a corporate company email with the servers in Los Angeles and I am in Orange County.

which brings me to another issue...

which i just removed because i forgot my point...
