Nvidia kernel module build error: 2.6.15.2

There is a build error when I try to install the 8178 nvidia drivers on kernel 2.6.15.2 (I upgraded to from 2.4.31). Since I can't attach the file here (and its a big installer log), here is the link to the post on the nvidia linux forum where the log file is attached. Thanks for your help.

What distro. And have you actually built the 2.6.15.2 kernel on that machine from source?

edit: My point is there seems to be no .config in the kernel source...
