Exclamation ntldr missing lilo xp and linux

Hi folks!

I just installed Linux (Slack 10) as dual boot on my laptop with Xp.

While I was first asked to install Lilo during installation I chose to install it in Linux partition instead of MBR.
When I rebooted I couldn't get into Linux!
So with the help of bootable CD I reinstalled Lilo on MBR from /sbin/liloconfig.

After that I got Lilo when I restarted the computer, I chose Linux and was able to boot Linux, after that I rebooted and booted into Xp it worked! that was the last time I was able to get into Xp.

When I woke up and turned my laptop on and chose Xp for booting I got:
________________________
NTLDR is missing

Press any Key to restart.

__________________________

I searched a LOT on net, I changed my boot.ini from Linux partition but still same!
Then I used Bootable CD of Xp to get into DOS, there I copied Ntldr to C: after that when I restarted I got rid of that error message, but still I wasn't able to get into Xp
I was getting totally Blank screen and it restarts laptop autmatically! ! !

So I again went to Linux and replaced Ntldr on C: with Older Ntldr and now I am stuck with that same message!

NTLDR is missing!!

Somebody please help!!! How do I get into Xp now???

I know that it's MS driver, whats mskb?
I can't download ntldr from my Cd's because they are Recovery CD's given by ACER, the CD's contain Images, they do not have any folders or files!
I do have I386 folder in my C:\ and it does have ntldr and I did copy ntldr from C:\i386 to C:\ ; then I am able to get rid of that "ntldr missing" message but then I get Stuck with a Black screen after selecting Windows from Lilo which AUTOmatically restarts the Laptop after 1-2 seconds!!!

This seems to be a tough error to fix.
Here is one possible solution.
You can also check out MS articles about this.
Good Luck.

Did you make a backup of your original windows MBR before installing Lilo to it? Same advice I gave here probably applies to your case, too.
