Exclamation NTFS- cannot alter permissions of files, only folders

I have been trying to mount 2 NTFS drives, whose contents are readable and executeable by user: music, but not writable (ofc :P). So far I have managed to mount it with 555 on all the folders, but not the files on the drive. The files still remain as 444, and I require them to be 555.

Relivent contents of my fstab are:

/dev/hda6 /home/music/ntfs1 ntfs ro,umask=0222,uid=music,gid=users 0 0
/dev/hda7 /home/music/ntfs2 ntfs ro,umask=0222,uid=music,gid=users 0 0

After mounting the drives, and performing a ls -l, the folders show as 555, but the files on the drive still show as 444, and I dont know why!!

I've read every single post on this topic!!!

Please help!! Thankyou!

Have you tested to add the 'exec' flag to the mount parameters?
