Question nslookup message

when I openned nslookup on my redhat linux it gives me a message
"Note: nslookup is deprecated and may be removed from future releases. Consider using the "dig" or "host" programs instead."

Does anyone know what it means? THanks

Yeah, it means that nslookup is old and no longer supported. Use the command "dig" or "host" instead. If you look at the manpage for nslookup there is a flag (I think it's "-s") which will suppress the message. Then all you have to do is alias nslookup="nslookup -s" in your environment and you won't see the message again. But I suggest you just get used to using DIG, it's much more informative anyway.
