Now its time to delete XP....

OK, so now i am totally hooked on Madrake (9.1)

Scenario:
I have a dual boot system-
XP is on HDA
Mandrake is on HDB

HDA is mounted as a windows filesystem where i can see all my XP files.

Now i would like to totally reformat my HDA drive and make it available for Mandrake only. I have nothing left on the HDD that i need anymore. Everything is copied to HDB that i need.

Questions:
Can i reformat it from Mandrake?
How can i change the boot screen so that it dosnt show the old dualboot startup choice?
Do i have to unmount it first?
Can all this be done from the Mandrake Controll Center?
Do i have to logon as root?
Will it be automatically remounted again?
Can i relocate my "home" directory to the new partition (HDA)?
Is it possible to resize my "swap file"?

Pheww - that was a lotta questions - hope someone out there can help

Please be patient and answer as if im an idiot (which i am)

Peace
UKMan

PS: so far every question ive asked before has been answered with great results - so well done everyone whos helped me

You're over the highest hurdle already (parting from M$)

umount /whereever/hdaismounted

mkfs -t ext3 /dev/hda

mount /dev/hda /new/mountpoint

(add the above to /etc/fstab to have it auto-remounted at reboot)

then go edit bootloader, grub, lilo, whatever

Uhmm, well i tried that and managed to delete something important So i had to reinstall everything again. Never mind though, it gave me the opportunity to reformat the hdd from the beginning.

Thank goodness for backups

Remember i did say i was an idiot !!
