Non-functioning bracket-key

This is an odd problem. My bracket key suddenly stopped working in X. The rest of the keyboard is fine and working without a hitch. I even tried another keyboard but that didn't make the slightest difference...
When I say bracket key, I mean the one that is often used in HTML to close tags. Its not a bracket I know, but forgot what its called, so sue me ;)
Anyhow, I checked the XF86Config and there's no error in there. I mean, the keyboard was working, and then, after a reboot, it wasn't...
Note that it does work in console, just not in X - at all. It doesnt matter if I launch xterm, aterm or Eterm, none of them seem to want to recognize the keystrokes.
So my question is this;
What program is handling the keyboard, or is that entirely built into XFree86?
And also, if response given to previous question, what config(s) do I need to take a look at more closely?

I'm running debian, and I wasn't exactly paying attention at the last dist-upgrade, so I might have fucked something up, but its been 3 years since I had problems with X, and I just dont know where to begin ;/

/Regards, dekket

I fixed the problem...
I put in "pc105" at the Keyboard module in XF86Config-4 instead of "pc104", and that worked out.

And yes, I actually counted all the keys just to be sure ;)
