Good morning, amp2000

I got no errors on my Varyfan installation.
But, how edit the /etc/varyfan.conf file ?
Can you give me an example ?
Thanks in advance.

Here is my varyfan.conf

#
# Varyfan configuration file
#
# The non-comment parts are currently fragile.
# The format is strictly:
# Variable<space>=<whitespace>VALUE
# where Variable is case sensitive, and it's up to you to verify that
# the VALUE is in the correct range, <space> a single space, and
# <whitespace> is any combination of spaces and tabs.
#
# The varyfan.conf.suggested file contains the defaults.
#

# Extra debugging output. 0 = off(default), anything else = on.
#Debug = 0;

# The pseudo-files for the CPU and case, for PWM (fan speed), and temperature.
# They are provided by the lm-sensors package. Install that and find a
# directory that has all the required files.
PWMcpu = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/pwm1
PWMcase = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/pwm2
TempCpu = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/temp2
TempCase = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/temp1

# Sleep this many seconds between readings
# Suggested range 0..5, maximum 65536, default 1
Sleep = 1

# Decrease in speed no more than this often. This has to be
# long enough for the fan to start spinning up from zero, but
# it doesn't have to spin up to full speed in this time.
# Suggested range 0..10 seconds.
SlowdownDelay = 5

# Temperatures (C) of the CPU sensor at which the fans are set
# to Maximum and Minimum. Suggested range 10.0 .. 80.0
CpuTempMax = 66.0
CpuTempMin = 55.0

# Temperatures (C) of the case sensor at which the fans are set
# to Maximum and Minimum. Suggested range 10.0 .. 80.0
CaseTempMax = 45.0
CaseTempMin = 39.0

# All Fan speeds are 0 (off) through to 255 (full on)
# For all fan types, 0 <= SpeedMin < SpeedSpindown < SpeedSpinup <= SpeedMax

# Fan speed for when the CPU temperature is less than CpuTempMin
CpuSpeedMin = 0

# Slowing down past this, set speed to min, or fan might stop spinning.
# This is minimum useable speed.
CpuSpeedSpindown = 55

# Starting from min, set speed to this, or fan may not start spinning.
CpuSpeedSpinup = 255

# Fan speed for when the CPU temperature is greater or equal to CpuTempMax
CpuSpeedMax = 255

# Decrease speed by no more than this much at a time, or set it to zero
# and this program will set it to have ten steps between MAX and MIN.
CpuDownDelta = 8

# See above for descriptions, this time it's for the case fan and sensor
CaseSpeedMin = 0
CaseSpeedSpindown = 30
CaseSpeedSpinup = 255
CaseSpeedMax = 255
CaseDownDelta = 8

any more questions just ask

By the way, the lines with
PWMcpu = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/pwm1
PWMcase = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/pwm2
TempCpu = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/temp2
TempCase = /proc/sys/dev/sensors/w83627hf-isa-0290/temp1

This is probably different on your system, do an
ls -l /proc/sys/dev/sensors/
to find out the correct values
How you edit files is really up to you, personally I use vim but it's not really for beginners, do a search here for text editors & see which one suits you the best.
