NoBrainer ? 'Y MS software over Linux?'

Been doing a lot of reading, (new to the linux world, in a sense), and i'm convinced that Linux is the way to go in terms of fitting my conveniences/needs...FREEBIE, Solid, PC Knowledge = #1 requirement, Control, Security/Reliability, etc. etc. I grew up w/ DOS and Windows 3.1-XP and never had major pains that i couldn't fix myself....

How about any reasons why, maybe i would like to consider using WinXp over Linux?

(My only + i can think off is ... Windows frequent problems like driver problems, or boot up failures, can be fixed with a lot more ease and knowledge than if you had similar problems in linux....)

Asking for any more or link to information about this....

my only reason for like windows over linux is good software that is in windows isnt in linux. and also windows comes with drivers for just about everything so you dont have to worry about your hardware not working as where in linux you have to find and download a proper driver and compile(my experience with alsa) it which isnt that easy of a thing for a total newb. but im taking a liking to linux and im determined to make it my #1 os eventually
