No sound....


Using linux 9.1
Sound card is: Creative labs (SB Live! value)
Aletrnative driver: "audigy:emu10k1"?????
Totally new to linux...trying to migrate from windows

Why don't you try to explain the problem.... That didn't tell us crap. What have you done to fix the sound. By linux 9.1 do you mean slackware 9.1, mandrake 9.1, what? Have you checked the volume levels of the system and the programs you are using?

I checked sound levels mute buttons speaker volume and read other peoples post with the same problem
But I cant seem to get it working....by the way its mandrake 9.1

follow this way>start application>configuration>configure your desktop and click once,now you are in *KDE control center*then go to>sound click there then choose *sound system*click there and tick the 1st which is *Start aRts soundserver on KDE startup*after next reboot,check your volume and make sure kmix icon on your right in your desktop
