No screensaver working

I'm on FC3, using KDE (3.3) and I got the latest 2.6.9.x kernel.
I can't get any screensavers to work after problems with my nVIDIA drivers. Also, games like Neverball and Supertux don't work...
The preview button on the screensaver button however successfully displays all of them. When the time for loading (5 idle minutes) comes, all I see is a blank black screen.
If I log in as Root, I can get the screensavers however.
Oh, and BTW, how can I use the KDE login screen rather than the GNOME one?
