No CDRom device Found - ¨solved¨

Hello every one i had this problem for a long time and didn´t found any solution for it till i made some change in the bios and now i can install Mandriva 2007 using the DVD with no error msg ¨NO CDROM DEEVICE WAS FOUND¨, here is a discription 4 my PC and the changes i made in the bios :
MB : Gigabyte 965 DQ6
RAM :1 giga Kingstone
CPU :Pentium D 3.4 GHz

i found an option in the bios called :
1) OnBoard SATA/IDE Device [Enabel]
2) ONBoard SATA/IDE ctrl Mode [IDE]
i changed the second one frome IDE To AHCI and tried to install mandriva using the DVD and worked fine , i don´t know really what does this make but it makes the installation DVD see my DVD device.
This s my first post i hope that it help.
