NIS or ??? for single sign on w/ AD
 

I'm trying to set up single sign on using Active Directory to RHEL 4.0 servers.
The sample I found uses NIS, but we do not use NIS normally. I can't even find the NIS rpm to load. Is NIS part of another rpm?
Is there another pgm you could substitute for NIS?

Any other ideas?

The NIS server is ypserv and the NIS client is ypbind.

Easiest way to do SSO is using PuTTY and a key known by the systems you'll be logging into. PuTTY comes with a key agent that can load your key at startup of Windows.

It really depends on what SSO means to you. Can you tell us some specifics about what you are hoping to achieve? (Give some examples)

Most of the examples I have seen use LDAP, Kerberos, & Smaba..
