Nfs

Hi, I need to set up an NFS server, and am not sure how. From what I found out, it seems I have to add the directory that I want to share on the server into /etc/exports. If my user name is shawniecas, and I want /home/shawniecas to be accessible on all computers would I need a shawniecas account on each computer, or does it get created everywhere?

Depends on the options you use while sharing, and how many
people may be using the other machines.... NFS3 has no security,
and if you share the directory users on the other machine(s)
that have the same numerical user ID could access your files.

Have a look at the NFS Howto on http://www.tldp.org

Cheers,
Tink
