If you've completed install with make install for instance you can get rid of source tree, no problems with this one. The only problem I had was with mozilla when I tried to install it from source and I deleted source tree afterwards - mozilla wouldn't load.

Part 2
Q: "How do I configure which hard drive to boot?"

A:

If you didn't install anything to the MBR when you installed your distro, and now you boot from a FLOPPY using lilo as your boot loader then...

Boot up into linux with your floppy. Run /sbin/lilo from a term. Now open up /etc/lilo.conf in your favorite text editor...

Add this to the bottom of the file:

other = /dev/hda1
table = /dev/hda
label = Winbloze

Now save the file and rerun /sbin/lilo

This assumes Winbloze is on /dev/hda; if it's not replace /dev/hda with whatever drive winbloze is on.
