Newb Questions... after i burn the ISOs..??

Im a complete newb, yet I want to install 9.0 on a slave hard drive. I've created a linux partition as well as a swap partition on the slave drive. I've also burned the 3 ISO cd's of RH-Linux 9.0. I assumed booting with CD1 in the bootable CD drive would bring me to linux installation, but I asumed wrong. What should i do ?

Did you burn them correctly as iso images? What software was used to burn them along with checking the md5sums of the disks?

Not familiar with md5sums, check out www.linuxiso.org as they have links to explanations on how to use, etc.

your iso is probably bad or your cdrom defective.
If you have only a .iso on the cdrom, it is bad, you have to burn it as an image.
Also, make sure your BIOS try to boot from CD. If nothing work, try to burn again... Or maybe your motherboard is old/broken? This happen sometime.

I used Nero to burn the ISO's... checking the properties of the CD, it is an ISO file. I'm running WinXP on the primary hard drive now, so the mobo is OK. I'll try to re-burn.. but linux installation should normally start up with cd1 in the drive and bios set to boot from cd_drive?

Yeah if your looking at your burned cd and there is just one big iso file on it, it didn't burn correctly. I think in Nero you want to select your buring an cd image, can't remember exactly though the options when going thru the little wizard. Its pretty obvious when you do go thru.
