Networked scanners?

Hi!

Is there any way to use a SANE scanner over a network? Is there some sort of TWAIN driver for use with Windows or a SANE driver for Linux so that I could access a SANE scanner over the network?

I would write my own utility if I have too. If I need to write my own, can someone point me to a good TWAIN driver tutorial or something on how to write a TWAIN driver.

Thanks.

iammisc.

Yes, saned (the sane daemon) on Linux permits this. If you have a scanner installed on Linux, odds are you already have sane and saned. Try a 'man saned'.

For Windows, you can try SaneTwain.
