You need to run monitoring software, or a proxy. For instance squid can give you logs of internet activity on hosts connecting through it. netop on the other hand will provide very detailed stats of your network in a nice web interface, however, you would need to run that on a system that her has all Internet traffic routed through it, on a mirrored switch port that mirrors the port to your router/gateway, or on a broadcast connection like a hub that all f your traffic goes through. Additionally there are lots of other monitoring tools. I like bandwidthd generates some noce charts of traffic usage. I also like cacti, which you could use to monitor snmp daemons on all computers and monitor the interface stats.

thanks.

CACTI, mrtg are there. but i want to check monthly, weekly commulative traffic of Gateway (Linux Firewall+proxy) and each system.

i am being charged by ISP for high utilization Internet. for that i want to verify this and also to check spyware on network.

any suggestion on this.

thanks.

You should look into utilities such as bandwidthd, iftop, ipband, netop, and if you are running as proxy see if there is any reporting utilities for you proxy, for instance there is calamari which works with squid, but many other too and sarg for squid that produces information in a more presentable view for you.

I have attached some screenshots of some of these for you to see the output.
