network share

I have a windows 2003 file server and i would like my ubuntu server to mount to a read only share. I have found different guides on making this work howerver if i try to use the smbmount command, it tells me that it doesnt exist. if i use the mount command, it wont mount using either the smbfs or ntfs commands. Below is the error i get with the smbfs option used

Quote:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on //192.168.1.200/Music,
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
Any help anyone can give me is appreciated

type dmesg and post the errors it's giving. first guess would be a permissions problem tho.

this makes me think there are some improperly-unchecked boxes under File Systems-->Native Language Support in your kernel config. Have you recently recompiled your kernel?

must agree with elmr007 though, run dmesg |tail after trying to mount the share and post the output. I've only produced similar errors when trying to mount a FAT partition while I was missing Codepage 437 in my kernel.
