I am compiling my first kernel for Gentoo, and I am seeing a lot of i810-specific options. I think I remember seeing i810 in the Windows Device Manager, but that was a while ago, and Windows is now long gone (kind of by accident, but I realized I didn't really want to reimage my system for Windows).

This has never been a problem before because I had a PCI NVidia card. The fan on it broke, and now I'm back to using the onboard card until I get a new computer.

Is there any way that I can easily tell what onboard graphics card I have?

EDIT: I didn't realize that I could just ask Compaq tech support in their online chat. D'oh!

Look at the chips on the motherboard?, one will have Intel i810 on it. ( i810 maybe part of the serial number. )

You could also ask lspci.
That make flag is for xfree which uses the i810 driver for all onboard intel chipsets regardless if it is actually an i810 or i855 or whatever.
You might want to opt for the latest masked version of xfree if you get into any trouble with the chip.
Not to be confused with the kernel driver.There is a i810 and i830 option in the kernel.
