Need to Dual boot a hardware RAID 0 between Vista and Ubuntu 8.04

I have 2 160GB SATA HDD's I partitioned Vista to get 129 of the 149 GB's. I need to have Ubuntu 8.04 on the other partition (not set-up it is merely free space) and don't know how to make ubuntu read the RAID 0 array. It lists the hard drives as 2 seperate things. Help!

P.S. This is a true hardware RAID there is no RAID card involved just my mobo telling the computer that there is a single HDD.

rockergamer,

Please post specs of your motherboard. If it is raid through the motherboard, you most likely have what they call 'fakeRAID' which is really software raid under the covers. Anyway, Ubuntu clearly states they don't advise installing on fakeRAID, but here is a link to a howto on their site:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FakeRaidHowto

It's a bit daunting only because the page is so long, but I think you only need to worry about the install portion.

Hope this helps! Good luck.
