Need help with scroll mouse

I have downloaded and installed imwheel-1.0.0.pre1.
When I type "imwheel -v", I get "imwheel-1.0.0pre1"

I have changed /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 as follows
------------------------------------
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Drive "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "dev/psaux"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buthttp://search.netscape.com/tons" "no"
EndSection
-------------------------------------
but, still, my logitech cordless MouseMan 3-button mouse isn't working.

What else do I have to do?

Found the answer

I, but stiill have question

I rebooted my machine and then my scroll mouse worked.

Questions:
1.) What is the difference between /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and
/etc/X11/XF86Config?
2.) Is there a way to get the mouse working without rebooting?

thanks much for you help

it's necessary to restart the x-server, but no, you don't need to reboot. in linux, technically, it's never necessary to reboot.

the XF86Config-4 file is the default for X-4.x.x, but if it's not present in the /etc directory, then X will use the /etc/XF86Config file. X-3.x.x used the XF86Config file, but doesn't use the XF86Config-4 file. the difference in the two isn't really huge, but the video-card sections need a driver line, and it's necessary to load some extensions that were automatic in the older versions of X.
