need help making USB based distro
hey, i just got a 512mb USB stick and i'd really like to put a distro on it to carry around. the only problem is that my motherboard doesn't support booting from USB. so, my question is, is there any already made CD/floppy or any way to make one that will either a) allow me to boot directly from a USB flash drive, or b) have a version of lilo and maybe a start-up script or whatever is necessary to delay the boot time enough so that something (maybe starting originally in the ramdisk like slax/knoppix?) can recognize the USB stick and mount it as the root partition?
thanks guys
by the way, i'd like to use slackware for the distro, but it really doesn't matter
